New Laptop!!!!

Also, replacement Kindle has finally been granted to me.  God bless the very slow, highly methodical people at Amazon, with all their 10 billion questions about what I was doing with it before it broke, for coming to the correct conclusion that it was totally not my fault as the little thing was overly-breakable.

Still working around iPod issues, but that will be settled with the purchase of a new one when I finally blow my stack and get sick of fighting with it.  I guess between now and year's end.

FAA 15 - Does anyone remember Fade Away Again??  I think the last time I posted was Jan or Feb; I can't believe that was nine months ago.  How the time has flown.  Anyway, it's just about ready to finally post, and I started the Giles interlude that comes after it.  If anyone has time to read, drop me a line.  The updates to this one have been so utterly sporadic, I have no true measure of ongoing interest in it, other than a review or two for each chapter.  My own fault for not being dedicated, I know, but then I enjoy my RL just as much as I enjoy fandom.

I bought witch shoes, so that in case I hated the viking costume when it came, I could just wear black and be all set.  I wore the witch shoes to work today.  I'm actually waiting for someone to comment on them, to see what kind of response I get.  PS on shoes - When I was the green and brown fairy last year, I was going to order these 'Roman Style' thigh high boots, but they were not in the budget, and I ended up wearing a pair of gold pumps I already owned.  I bought the same boots to go with the viking costume (sidenote: I need to stop wearing so much brown) and they are FABULOUS.  Seriously, even with my fear of the cold, I found myself regretting that I had bought a long skirt, because it will cover the boots.  I'm considering splitting the sides.

I'm a big fan of FAA and have it on my rec site, mainly because you've not only got a great feel for the main characters but you have a huge and simply wonderful stable of OCs that I fell in love with. It's really nice to read something that isn't 100% based on the canon characters, particularly when it's so well written. But, to be (perhaps too) honest, I find it a bit frustrating because your interval between updates is so long that I have to go back and re-read the past three or four chapters each time before I can read the new one. I suppose again because of the OCs really - I can't just pick up because I don't know them so well. I absolutely do see your point re wanting a RL though!
PS. I really liked the "What If" books too!

Thanks so much for your appreciation, it is nice to know that someone is awaiting the updates.

For some reason, wether it's the chapter length or the changing POV, I've had a really hard time with this story. It is just as frustrating for me as it is for you and other readers; I wish that I could just finish it and move on to the sequel. The first two chapters of that have been languishing on my hard drive for a year and a half.

I should have gotten ahead a chapter or 2 before I started posting; my only defense is that this was the first long fic I started posting, and I had no clue what to do. Live and learn, I guess.

In other news of my laziness, I had started an epic fic in the X-Files fandom about a year and a half before FAA, but never posted it because I moved on to BtVS fic. Ironically, at one point when I was blocked on FAA, I posted all of that fic to fanfiction.net, where it will probably remain unfinished forever.
