Seriously, what are you doing reading this?  Move along, move along.

*blinks*  Oh, you're still here, are you?  Well, I suppose I'll just ramble a bit, until you get bored and move off.

FAA 14 went up last week as you may know.  It'll go up at ff.net and Spuffy Realm sometime in the next few days.

Christmas was fun.  Quiet, lots of family time.  I was glad I made time for old friends on Saturday, because on Sunday morning I woke up SICK with some kind of stomach bug.  My sister-in-law and niece were also SICK, but with head colds.  We all should have just stayed in bed and drank tea.  When they finally braved the weather on Christmas morning to come visit, they were all snotty etc., but it was good to see them. Now the tummy ick has cleared off, but I think I'm getting the cold they had.  It's a shame that Merae is so friggin' adorable - it would be a lot easier if, when she gave me the pouty face and said "up" I could reply "no, I'm not picking you up, you little germ infested snot-ball".  No, like a dope, I always fall for it.  "Oh, the poor baby is sick, she needs a cuddle."  And I cuddle, and then I spend a week being known as 'oh sick and dying one'.

I have gotten no writing done since the big push to finish FAA 14 ended, but that's to be expected; I always have at least a week after I finish a chapter of FAA where I can't start the next one.  This is likely the reason updates have been so sporadic.  It's a shame, because the office is nice and quiet at the moment, it would be the perfect time to get stuff done.  Or, I could just sit here and blow my nose a lot.  Whichever.

Cheyenne caught a mouse last night!

I woke up, and there it was in the middle of the hallway, it's little legs all floppy, a tiny look of panic on its face.  This deserves a squee, not because I have anything against mice, per se, but because it is a rare instance of Cheyenne exibiting cat-like behavior.  And I enjoy those.  It's usually rather disturbing how little my cat acts like a cat.

So, I disposed of the mouse before anyone else woke up, but Cheyenne has been super active all day.  As I was telling her earlier, there is no way she should be this excited about defeating something one tenth her size, that took her 6 months to catch.

Hello, all.

I went to the emergency room Wednesday morning, because the treatment I used on Tuesday did not help at all.  I woke up Wednesday with splotches in three more places, and some welts on my face, and my left hand stiff and oozy from the pustules; and so sought medical attention.  They gave me steiroids, prescription benadryl, and some stuff to protect my stomach lining from the other meds, as well as a note saying I should not be at work.  I did not have to ask for the note.

So, today I'm back at work.  Wearing latex gloves, because they won't let me touch anything without them.  Also, long sleeves.

It's gonna be a fun day, I can tell.  Ah well, at least this is the end of the week, and by Monday I'll be back to normal (I hope).  First roommate's birthday party is tomorrow, and we're having more than 30 eople in the house...And there I'll be, in my gloves.  I was actually thinking about tracking down some of those lace 80's Madonna gloves, so the latex is not quite so obvious.  Or, not.

I hope everyone had a good week, and I'll be back soon.

So, the evil I mentioned yesterday, turned out to be poison ivy.  In a big way.  As in, they sent me home from work, fearing I would infect the whole office.  I can barely use my left hand, the swelling is so bad, and that's after mineral baths, alcohol rub, benadryl, and several applications of calamine lotion.  And, I never even saw the sneaky bastard plant that infected me!

Okay, so I'm starting to see their point about infecting the whole office.

Anyway, I've been sleeping since I got home, due to the benadryl.  Which means I'll probably be up all night.  I may not be back here, though; the pain is just too much to justify typing.

Edit:  Thanks to everyone for the kind words and good wishing.  There has been some speculation that I was actually infected by a sumac tree, not poison ivy.  The doctor didn't do any tests to figure it out, just labeled it a 'severe allergic reaction to a chemical irritant' and treated it as such.  Evidently plant allergies fall into the same treatment category as man-made chemical allergies.

I apologize for the hatin' post of yesterday afternoon.  I was in a crappy mood.  And having 'female' problems.  No fun.  Two people I didn't know actually stopped me leaving work yesterday, and asked me if I was okay.  I guess I was looking as bad as I felt.  Which is such a joy to find out, really.

I'm feeling pretty good right now, with painkillers on desk and a few minutes from taking my break and walking to the CVS for more supplies.  I'm actually getting some writing done, too, which is good.  I don't usually write when I'm in particular pain, I guess it's a concentration problem, because my pain threshold is pretty high, certainly high enough for me to do other things while in pain.  So, writing and coffee and bills, oh my!  LOL; I crack myself up for no particular reason, maybe I should lay off the pain killers.

Okay, time for me to do other things now.  C U.

Seriously; I'll pay you.  In blood, and chocolate, and ovaries.  If tomorrow sucks as badly as the last few days have, I don't know what I'll do.

At least, my Mom and I settled our differences this afternoon.  How we ended up exchanging angry e-mails is probably a story best kept between us and a select few.  But, the situation was resolved well, although I think there are still some bruised feelings on both ends.  Of course, mine initially got bruised last year; but I think once she really got what she'd done, she felt that much worse that I didn't say anything then.  So, all better; just all churney still.  Thank heavens and assorted other places, her evil biological counterpart has been a no-show since Christmas; dealing with her would be the proverbial last straw right now.

Due to my massive, and rather abrupt, RL issues, don't expect more fic anytime soon.  Sorry.  I'm weeks behind on FAA, and the What If books were slated to begin posting about now.  I ask everyone to please be patient, I am trying to work, but my focus leaves a lot to be desired at the moment.

Reader's Circle en mi casa tonight, should be fun.  Not that I've done any reading, but I can still moderate, right?  I mean, assuming I don't just decide to get trashed and let my friends put me to bed.  Seems rude to invite people over to hold my hair back, though.

Look at me; I'm at home, wearing my comfy flannel shirt...Posting to LJ!  Squee!

I'm almost out of pizza; which is good, because I'm nearly sick of pizza, which I wasn't sure could happen.  It's taken me since Monday to eat the whole thing.  This is even more impressive when you consider how I'm restraining myself; I usually polish of at least half a large pizza in one sitting, depending on the crust.  Pizza's my thing.  But, I guess, less my thing when spread out over many days.

Also, my basement is icky and creepy; moreso after the discovery of animal bones down there.  Who said something could walk in and die in my basement before I moved here, anyway?  Wait, was that self centered?

My yard is in desparate need of landscaping (fun summer project!), and is full of patches where no grass grows, dandelions, pieces of the old roof, and rocks.  So, in a effort to do a little bit at a time, I'm scouting the rocks to find some to bring indoors, and place in glass jars.  Which I then use as bookends.  I've only found 4 so far, but it's a big yard.

So, I'm sure the rest of my domestic stuff is boring, and I'll spare you all.  Just wanted to celebrate my internet connection with a little home oriented update.  Cheers!
