In honor of absolutely nothing, it's a round of 'Guess the Obscure Musical Theatre Quote'.  Enjoy!

Also, I am having a very good day, because I am flush with success.  I got up from my desk today without prompting from anyone else and without having to talk myself into it, then I went to another floor and walked around passing out paystubs, and I spoke to a few people.  This is practically a coup, considering that last Wednesday it took me all day to make 1 phone call.

I don't know if you'd call that social anxiety or what, but some times even very minor social interaction, like dialing a phone with the expectation that someone will answer, or going to visit another part of my office where people I don't see everyday sit, is simply beyond me.  I thank the gods every day that my job usually requires only as much interaction as I am willing to expend.  I get through some days only answering the phone and talking to my bosses, without actually having to dial out or speak to anyone else.

But, today was a really good-feeling day for me, very low social anxiety, and I am proud of myself for that.  So, I thought I should share.

Since I'm in such a damn fine sewing machine inspired mood, I thought I'd get everybody else in on the act.  Tell me something that made you happy this week.

I walked to the Metro this morning, because I missed my bus.  While I was walking, I spotted two little sparrows; or wrens, or whatever.  One would fly up into the air, just past the other, then land.  Then the other would fly up and over the first, and land just past it.  They were playing leap frog!

It made me smile, which is no mean feat before I've had coffee.

Edit: I just re-read this (@ 1:50) and noticed that it's been sitting there all morning saying 'mean feet'.  *headdesk*

1) The two older people on the Metro, having a loud and boisterous discussion about how wonderful the salads they had for lunch were.

2) The managing partner stopping by my desk, to say 'hi, how are you'.  Not a big yay, but it's nice to know that the big guys notice and appreciate me.

3) Metro again:  There was some type of youth group/class field trip of hispanic boys, approx. 13-15 on the Metro with me.  When the guy sitting next to me got off the train, one of the boys very politely asked if he could sit there.  Personally, I find teenagers with good manners a special type of charming.

4) I came home to find that a work crew had torn a massive hole in the front yard to fix a broken pipe.  Kristine not only left me a nice note filling me in on what was happening, she left bottled water in the kitchen.  Yay roomie!

5) For dinner I made potatoes and onions with curry-garlic sauce.  It was very yummy.  Bad for my diet, but worth it.

6) An extremely random conversation about goats and goatsmilk with a co-worker.  You just don't get to talk about livestock enough at the office.

7) Work is progressing nicely on FAA chapter 12.  I'm hoping it'll be ready by this time next week.  Don't hold me to that too closely.

SQUEE!!!

Just when I was starting to get really depressed that no one other than me would care if I ever finished FAA...Hits at fanfiction.net jumped from around 900 the last time I checked in, to almost 2500!  Thanks so much to everyone who is reading/recing this story, it means a lot to me that people are showing interest in it.  That said, a few more reviews would not be amiss.  You know who you are, people who never review (jk).   Also, squishes to Death Phoenix at ff.net, for adding my buffyverse fic to her C2 community.

Also, much love at the moment to the wonderful people who make Ben & Jerry's possible, and the nice cooks at the buffet on the corner for making the greasy-but-yummy spinach lasagna today.  Yeah, I've lost all hope for my diet this week.  Better luck Monday.

And, who knew 10 pounds would be so friggin' hard to lose?  The last time I actually focused, and dieted, I lost 60, and it wasn't all that hard.  The 10 I gained back just don't seem to want to leave.  And, to be fair, I actually gained back a little over 15, but I'm older now, so I figure I only need to lose 10.  I'll stop talking about this now, because you either don't care, or you've heard this rant 20 times in the last month.

Oh, and I finished an entire book yesterday.  It wasn't long, or very challenging, but it made me happy to read something that I just ripped right through, that I couldn't put down, that I really enjoyed.  Other than fanfic.  It was another cheesy romance novel, but it surprised by being well written, having character development, keeping things at a realistic pace for the way a RL relationship develops, and having characters who were strong without being stereotypes.  The plot was a bit contrived; but it's a romance novel, there are only so many miracles you can expect.
