Phoey...

If that's even how you spell it.

Writing continues to be frustrating and slow, and I've lost my Willow voice again, which happens to me a lot.  Most annoying, as I need her so much for FAA.  I have no idea what it is that makes Willow so hard for me to write, but I have to give massive credit to the show's writers.  They do about a million times better job than I can with Willow-voice.  Of course, they got paid for a reason.

I watched the same 5 minute segment of NFA many, many times on Sunday, got all excited about what I was working on, and then realized that some scenes I had planned are just not possible, based on the handy timeline I generated.  Phoey again.  Double phoey, even.

Well, back to office-related work.

Timelines stink ... they've run me into trouble, too.

I've had some success with imagining the characters voices while reading the lines, but I'm told that doesn't work for everyone; maybe it's a left brain/right brain thing.

That's usually the first thing I try. Also, re-watching an episode centered on the character (Dopplegangland for willow, etc.)

It's just that I have an especially hard time writing Willow, even after I do all that. I have some strange Willow-block. Mostly, Willow just ends up sounding like me trying to be girly.

I'm sure we all have characters that we have particular trouble with ... Willow for you, Buffy for me ... and I have trouble with Andrew's voice, too. I don't know how I'd do trying to write Faith -- when she's in a story I just sit back and let her go.
