Well, nothing much, really.  I spent most of last night drinking wine on the couch, while watching 'Sheer Genius' and writing FAA 13.  Chapter's approximately half done, but I'm not sure how I like it.  Did manage to make it through the night and to Friday morning, so that's a step in the right direction.  I thought about putting time stamps on the chapters, then thought it might be too distracting for the readers.  I do have a timeline I'm working from, though, if anyone is interested.

On a totally un BtVS-related fandom note:  I started writing a James Bond fic about 10 years ago, and it never really went anywhere; but I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about the fandom.  Is there a fic community?  Also, would any of you be interested in reading this story, if I decided to finish it?  I got to thinking about it today, and it won't go away.

Local news:  the DC Best of the 48-hour film project show tonight at the AFI theatre in Silver Spring.  Friends, and friends of friends, in several of the showings; which are up for awards.  Congratulations!  On a sad-ish note, my favorite boutique clothing store is closing its doors on June 30; no more cute, brightly colored tops and unique skirts and dresses to be had; well, not until I find another place.  I went by today and used up a store credit I had hanging around from February.  I'll probably go back, although I noticed today that the pickings are kind of slim already.\

So like I said, not much going on.  More yard work on the horizon before next week, movers coming Monday; should vaccum the upstairs, hose off the patio, and wash the porch railings ASAP.  Movies and mexican food tonight; possibly happy hour and the awards presentation after.

More later.

Bond. James Bond.

Yes, by all means, write the story! I'm a big Bond fan. I had an idea for a story myself several months ago, but it never got past the thinking about it stage due to time constraints.

I'm pretty sure there's a James Bond section in fanfiction.net, but I've never checked it out. Surely there's more than one Bond community here in LJ?

I did no research, just kinda threw myself on the mercy of my flist for insights. You're right, though, I should check ff.net.

The idea came when I was reading the Ian Fleming books. They're not the best books ever, but the Bond in the books is a much deeeper Bond than in the movies, and that's what got me thinking about writing Fic for Bond. The story I have is only a few pages, and it's old, so obviously my writing has evolved since I started it; but I really kind of like the way I did the opening scene, which has made me hold onto it for so long.

And, I'm sure you need no more of my drunken rambling. Happy Memorial Day (in 45 minutes, my time)!

The movie Bond is more fun, but the book bond is definitely deeper. Now that they've brought the movie version back much closer to the book version, this would be the perfect time to bring your story back!

So, I looked into the Bond community on ff.net, and it's very active for the movies, specifically the new Casino Royale. And...I found a Bond crackfic I thought you would find amusing, since it crosses over with another of your fandoms. Enjoy! *snicker*

Okay, now that's just silly. We could use more such silliness in the world!
