Fic Update
Oct. 17th, 2007 01:56 pm If you're reading anything I'm writing at the moment, and you don't wanna be spoiled; or you don't read my fic and don't give a rat's ass, don't bother looking under the cut.
lilachigh requested a drabble on the 5th (OMG, forever ago), and I hope to finish that by the end of the week. I know where I need to get, just having a hard time getting there.
And, in my continuing tradition of starting things a million years before I ever begin posting them, I wrote two pages of the 4th story in the series that begins with 'Hole in My Pocket' and continues with 'Fade Away Again'. And they're not the first two pages, either. *sigh*
If anyone has some free time coming up, I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at FAA 14. Just let me know if you have time, and I'll send you the small pile of crap I have currently.
Here, there be spoilers.
FAA 14 is at a complete standstill, and I can't figure out how to move on. I have early Saturday morning, Angel is narrating, it's still raining, we're coming up on the second day in a row where the sun won't rise, one of my 3 big injuries has already happened...And that's where I stop. There's like, a mental steel reinforced brick faced concrete wall there. I have a binder filled with research for this series, including a minute-by-minute timeline of FAA, and I've re-looked at all of it, and I can't get unstuck. Is anoying.
I've had some small bit of luck working on What If 1 this week. I won't say it's smooth sailing from here, but I will be more likely to finish a chapter of this by the end of the month than to get FAA 14 done. I've also decided that this story will not get much longer. I've shifted the focus to the most concrete changes that would result from the 'What If?', and will not persue an alternate canon past the end of the first season. Maybe I won't even go that far. I've come up with a 'Spike taking Dru back to England to die, promising Buffy he'll return when she's gone' scene that will likely end the fic. It's just a matter of what I want to put in between that point and where I am now. I do need to deal with Angel and Giles, and possibly Willow, before I can end the thing. At least Buffy, Joyce and Xander are now dealt with.
