I bought my parents a digital photo frame for their anniversary, so I've been going through my stores of pictures and picking some to pre-load into the frame. Hopefully, my Mom will forget before I give it to them that I forgot when their anniversary was (I thought it was today, but it's tomorrow).
At least the good news there is that I got an extra day to work on finding and loading the pix.
While I was looking for gift ideas for them, I went to one of those websites where they list 'traditional' and 'modern' anniversary gifts. There is only a 'modern' gift idea for their anniversary year, and it's sculpture. Which is a laughable thought. My parents have so much crap that they'd already gotten a storage unit before I moved in and filled it with my crap. Yes, let's get these people - who are currently living with the combined results of my father's 60-plus years as a pack rat, my 30 years as a pack rat, and my mother's nearly 60 years as a collector of random collections of things that take up space; not to mention my brother's childhood mementos that he didn't want to take into base housing with him - a sculpture. Good plan.
