I'm not sure what kind of crack was being smoked by the person who wrote the FAQ, but I followed the directions, and could not get the LJ cut to work.  So, I apologize for the enormously long post.  I'll get the hang of it, I'm sure.

Ok it goes like this:

<*lj-cut*> then the part you want behind the cut and then end it with <*/lj-cut*> without the *'s of course.

If you want to leave a customized tag link so it says Follow me or whatever else instead of saying Read More, write this:
<*lj-cut(spacekey)text="*what you want the link to say*"> and then put everything you want behind the cut here and then close it with <*/lj-cut*> again without the *'s and the part that says space key means to leave a space between cut and text=.
