I know I have a million other things to do, and I posted twice today already, but I need to get this off my chest.

I got about 4 chapters into a 28 chapter story at SR today, when I couldn't take it anymore.  The incredible badness of the writing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation nearly made my head explode.  Also, every character was out of character.  Badly.  Like, insulting to the show's writers OOC.  The damn thing had over 100 reviews, most of them positive.

I certainly don't begrudge another writer their feedback, but what am I doing wrong, that no one reviews me, while this horror show is so wildly popular?

Oh, and don't bother to ask, I'm not telling you who/what the story that got me riled up is.

*pets you* It happens. Usually, there is smut involved. You know the old saying, "No one ever went broke underestimating the American public". Sad, but often true.

Maybe you're not blowing your own horn enough? It's something I've not very good at, but I've learned over the years that self-promotion is a huge part of writing, whether it's writing for publication or not. I'm hardly an expert on it, but maybe this awful writer is just very good at networking and showmanship.

Join the club. It's very prestigious. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to reviews. The knack is to not let it destroy you. I, personally, am still working on that.
